Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University

KrasGAU develops project on selection and seed production of potatoes adapted to Siberian conditions

Alexander Uss, the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, discussed innovative projects with the Rector of the Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University, Natalya Pyzhikova. Employees and students of the university are at the forefront of solving the problem of import substitution in the field of providing the inhabitants of the region with both finished agricultural products and the components and competencies necessary for this. The main thing is that discoveries and new technologies should not remain within the walls of educational institutions, but work for the benefit of the industry, increasing productivity and economic efficiency, ensuring the food security of the region.

“We must talk not just about the financial and economic well-being of villagers and farms, especially large ones, but about food security with a focus on the consumer, on the population. This topic today should run like a red thread through all the activities of the agricultural sector,” said Alexander Uss.
