"Proud to strengthen our partnership with Japanese company Sumitomo Corporation Foods"

"Last week, we hosted a Japanese delegation from Sumitomo Corporation Foods with outgoing president Tetsuro Tajima, a confirmation of the mutual respect we have built together over the past twenty years. Years during which we have become the exclusive European suppliers of Sicilian citrus juice to the Japanese markets.

"A stable and well-structured partnership we are proud of, built on the base of the reliability of Agrumi-Gel in terms of the capability of ensuring ongoing supplies guaranteed by international certifications. These are the rules and requirements to work with the Japanese in a relationship of mutual respect," reports Salvatore Imbesi, quality manager at Agrumi-Gel

Sumitomo Corporation Foods is a company located in Tokyo that purchases fresh produce and processed citrus fruit from all over the world, which are then distributed to large Japanese businesses. Japan is the eleventh country for Italian agricultural and food exports, the third outside of Europe after the US and Canada. The program signed with Sumitomo Corporation Foods concerns the annual supply of various tons of products, including blood and blond orange, lemon, tangerine and pomegranate juices.

I nuovi impianti in produzione colmeranno il gap tra domanda e offerta nel succo di melagrana

Agrumi-Gel works exclusively with the best Sicilian citrus fruit, including blood and blond oranges, lemons and tangerines, as well as products from Calabria such as bergamot oranges and grapefruit. The products obtained include natural and concentrate juices,  clear or cloudy juices, cold and hot-extracted essences, traditional and organic juices and essences, dried peel for the extraction of pectin, dried peel for feed, Bio-ethanol. In 2018, the company acquired systems for the processing of pomegranates in order to obtain fresh arils for the fresh-cut industry and juice.

"Working with Japan means applying strict specifications, certifications, checks and the utmost precision, as the entrepreneurial culture is different from the Italian one, which makes it more challenging to develop business activities for Japanese partners. They have an extraordinary attention to detail with the purpose of constantly improving and exceeding themselves. As a consequence, they ask their partners to adopt a philosophy focused on a sense of duty and perfectionism where nothing is left to chance, this is why they build lasting commercial relationships. We are proud of our mutual trust."
