On April 1, Michiel van 't Hek (48) began his role as commercial director (CCO) at Hessing Supervers. He will focus on further expanding this Dutch fruit and vegetable processing company, both nationally and internationally.

Michiel van 't Hek, Hessing Supervers' new commercial director.

Michiel has plenty of retail and food sector experience. As managing director at places like Hoogesteger Fresh Specialist, he got to know the fruit salads and fresh juices world very well. At De Menken Keuken, Michiel focused on the innovation and commercialization of spreads, dips, tapas, and meat products. He was the link between suppliers and retailers. Michiel brings that experience to Hessing Supervers.

"More and more consumers are discovering sliced fruit and vegetables," says Frank Hessing, the company's managing director. The choice and assortment are growing fast. With Michiel's arrival, we look forward to confidently rolling out our growth strategy. We're ready to take the next step in our fantastic family business development. Hessing's board of directors is now complete."

In 2021, Hessing began construction on a new production facility in the Netherlands. The company is, thus, taking an important strategic step toward ensuring continuity and growth in 2022 and beyond. This new production location is close to the country's largest horticultural areas. That allows Hessing to respond even better to the rapidly growing consumer demand for freshly cut fruit and vegetables.
