Kiwi fruits commercialized by a company based in Veneto

Italian fruits and vegetables also sold in the Canary Islands

The Hiper Dino chain, one of the main ones in the Canary Islands, stands out for its medium-high quality and well-presented fruit and vegetables. Most of the produce on sale is obviously Spanish (the Canary Islands are an Autonomous Community under the Kingdom of Spain), but there is no shortage of produce from other countries.

Among them, Greek kiwi fruits from Kingfruit, a Verona-based company that also has a base in Greece, are on sale right now.

"I have noticed high-quality products. The supermarket I visited in Las Palmas (the photos were taken on 10 January 2022), the fruit and vegetable department is located at the end of the tour and not at the beginning," explained a reader of FreshPlaza from the island.

Another aspect that struck our reader is the wide variety of juices and fruit extracts on the wall counter. "In addition to Spain - he continued - an important amount of its origin is precisely local, that is, cultivated in the Canary Islands. I read about this origin especially in tropical fruits, but also in tomatoes."

Also worthy of mention is the presence of Conference pears, sold at €1.78/kg. The origin indicated on the label was European Union and this immediately suggests the Netherlands or Belgium.
