In 2020, Morocco ranked as the second most important supplier of Spanish oranges, with more than 44,370 tons exported, according to the data from the Estacom statistics service (Icex-Tax Agency). Its sales of oranges increased by more than 378.31% in 5 years, for a value of 32.1 million euros [38.5 million USD] and an average price of 0.72 €/kg [0.86 USD/kg].
It is Portugal that ranks first with a total volume of 67,810 tons, which is 165.45% more in 5 years for a value of 61.87 million euros [74.26 million USD] and an average price of 0.91 €/kg [1.09 USD/kg].
South Africa ranks third with 20,280 tons of oranges, which is 7.23% more in 5 years, for a value of 17.96 million euros [21.56 million USD] and a price of 0.88 €/kg [1.06 USD/kg].
The Netherlands are the fourth supplier with a total of 19,400 tons exported, thus an increase of 86.75% in 5 years for a value of 17.04 million euros [20.45 million USD] and an average price of 0.88 €/kg [1.06 USD/kg].
Finally, Argentina ranks fifth with a volume of 7,430 tons in 2020, which is 77.31% less in 5 years. The value of the shipments represents 6.4 million euros [7.68 million USD] for an average price of 0.86 €/kg [1.03 USD/kg].
