Robert Vogel, AGF Direct:

"Cauliflower market has recovered quickly, but everything still depends on the weather"

According to Robert Vogel, of AGF Direct, while the cauliflower supply has been considerably slowed down in certain Spanish growing regions due to the cold weather and the snow, the market right now has recovered reasonably. "We have been able to meet our agreements. The Spanish growers who supply us were able to continue harvesting during the day, and we were not truly affected by the logistical problems around Madrid, so the damage was limited for us."

Harvest in Spain

"Prices did go quickly up for a while, reaching up to 15 Euro per box. These now stand at around 12 Euro again, and if the weather conditions remain normal, they will normalize further," says Robert. But in our business, everything depends on the weather. With normal temperatures, nothing is wrong, but a cold front comes and then you don't know what will happen."
