Packaging specialist Polytrade is taking over the business of foil manufacturer Smilesys Resealable Systems for Germany, regarding the fruit & vegetable range. According to the Polytrade LLC management, packaging can be resealed up to 25 times with Smilesys Resealable Systems. The adhesive used is also very suited for humid environments.
Furthermore, according to Polytrade, Smilesys Resealable Systems is characterized by a wide range of possible applications. The system can be used on vertical flowpacks, horizontal flowpacks, doypacks as well as on sealing trays made of plastic and cardboard.
"Among other things, the film combines the function of a lid with a peelable film and is fully customizable in format, size and Öffnung. It can be sealed on polyester, polyethylene, polypropylene and cardboard," says Rainer Dony, Managing Director of Polytrade. "Product safety is guaranteed right up to the first time you open it, thanks to a tamperproof sealing system, which is fully customizable as well."

The Smilesys resealable system is already used in the fruit and vegetable sector for berries. But there are also opportunities for snack tomatoes and sliced salads. "We see the greatest marketing and application potential both in the well-known food retail chains and in the discount sector, but rather for high-quality brand products. The Smilesys reclosable system is a replacement for the trays that were previously using lids, offering additional benefits to the customer."
