For the 2019/2020 campaign:

Blue Whale donated more than 1,000 tons of apples

The 29th of September 2020 was a day of agricultural donations, organized by Solaal, an organization facilitating food donation to French charities.

It was an opportunity for Solaal to bring together about 60 partners of the project, from local political bodies or organizations (Regional Council, MIN of Toulouse, Toulouse City Council, Chamber of Agriculture, Purpan Engineering School, Groupama...), charities (Restos du Coeur, Food Banks, Andes, French Red Cross, Belles gamelles…), and of course donating producers. Angélique Delahaye, its president and former European deputy, announced the creation of a Solaal-Occitania branch on the MIN of Toulouse.

Blue Whale was able to reiterate the commitment of the group to food donations. For over 25 years, Blue Whale producers have been donating fruit. In 2014 and with the Russian embargo, they crossed paths with Solaal, which had just been created. This encounter allowed Blue Whale to develop its donation network everywhere in France.

For the 2019/2020 campaign, Blue Whale donated over 1,000 tons of apples, which is 48 trucks or some 7 million apples.

On this agricultural donation day, the group of producers made 44 pallets of apples available, distributed in early October to the most disadvantaged.

This concrete act of solidarity, meaningful for charities, is perfectly in line with the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) approach of Blue Whale.
