Brio's commitment to environmental sustainability continues with an innovative paper-only pack soon to be launched on the shelves of the large-scale retail trade. The debut of this new pack was entrusted to Gala apples marketed under the brand Alce Nero.
"Thanks to Frutmac's new plant, Blitzmatic+, - explained Brio's sales manager Mauro Laghi - the packaging of our apples will consist of a 100% recyclable paper tray that does not require the use of plastic or film. The packaging machine is installed in our plant in Zevio in Verona, which is exclusively dedicated to organic products and uses renewable energy for an even greater environmental protection".
This is an innovative and sustainable solution that integrates perfectly with a premium reference such as the Alce Nero Italian apple. "The packaging is designed to accommodate four 75/80 caliber fruits. The first varieties that will be on the shelves with this pack will be the Gala, followed by the Golden, Granny Smith and Morgenduft, all of them from territories with a strong vocation such as Trentino Alto Adige and Veneto."
The idea started as part of Brio's campaign at the beginning of August and will continue in the coming months, thanks to the commercial agreement with Cooperativa Mezzacorona and the Piedmont-based Lagnasco Group. "With this partnership - commented Laghi - we are able to guarantee a supply of different varieties, freeing our clients from the inconvenience of having to look for different suppliers throughout the year."
