Senegal hits the brakes in week 34

The Dutch onion export declined to a meager 21,000 tonnes in week 34, where a week prior to this exporters were recording volumes of over 34,000 tonnes.

This was revealed in the figures published by KCB/GroentenFruit Huis. The recently opened Senegalese market was particularly quiet, with an import of 3,000 tonnes compared to a much higher 15,000 tonnes in week 33. In total the Netherlands exported a volumes of over 136,000 tonnes between the weeks 27 and 34. In the season 2019/20 the volume in those weeks was 140,000 tonnes and in the year previous amounted to 145,000 tonnes.
