José Illan, Le Tresacois:

“Good start for the French grape campaign”

“The French grape campaign has made a good start with relatively stable prices,” explains José Illan, sales manager at Le Tresacois. The quality is also very nice for all varieties, which include the Lavallée, Muscat, PDO Muscat du Ventoux and the Danlas. This year, the family farm located in the Gard hopes to reach a total volume of 2,500 tons.

Organic production
The Lavallée and Muscat varieties are available as organic. “We started our organic production because we felt that the demand was growing. We already offered some organic grapes, but not a lot. This year the volumes are larger.”

The Tresacois grapes have made their entry into the world of sports this year. “Through one client, we were able to serve our Lavallée and Muscat at the Tour de France and Roland Garros.” As long as the weather allows it, Le Tresacois will continue to offer grapes which are grown in open fields. In a week, the grapes for long-term storage will be available. These grapes can be kept from 4 to 6 weeks. If the quality is good, they will be available until Christmas.

Besides the grape harvest, Le Tresacois is also preparing the kiwi campaign, which should be available as early as November.

Le Tresacois sells its production under the brand “Le Tresquois”. The company is certified Global GAP, IFS, Eco-responsible Orchards and HEV.
