New packaging solution for Granny Smith apples by Brio

The new two-fruit packaging solution developed by Brio under the Alce Nero brand in Italy and as a private label in foreign chains is now available. The solution is currently used for Granny Smith apples grown in Italy by Brio, which specializes in organic fruit. This format is practical to eat the fruit on the go.

"This variety is particularly suitable for sportspeople and diabetics due to its low glycaemic index. We believe this format is excellent to promote the daily consumption of an apple that has unique organoleptic and nutritional qualities. Each pack contains two grade 75/80 Granny Smith apples grown in the most suitable areas, Veneto in particular. The tray is made of 100% recycled paper guaranteeing the maximum safety of the product," explains Brio sales manager Mauro Laghi."

Granny Smith apples are particularly rich in magnesium and potassium and have a high vitamin C, A and B content, while the peel has a high fiber content.

"This variety is particularly appreciated by sportspeople also thanks to its limited calories, i.e. approximately 72 calories for a medium-sized apple. The flesh is crunchy and the acidic, juicy and fresh flavor make it ideal as a refreshing snack."
