Sustainability while saving natural resources

Sustainability in agriculture is not only measured by employing eco-friendly material, but also by a wise use of natural resources and a sparing use of fertilizers and crop protection products.

Fertigation is without doubt among the systems that better rationalize the use of resources. Irritec Spa is on of the more highly specialized companies.

"For soilless crops, our kits can be supplied pre-assembled with standard or customized sizing. Greenhouse and pot solutions also meet the nutritional needs of crops thanks to the modern fertigation units installed to guarantee the maximum growth of crops. Monitoring and automation systems are essential just as our modern control units, as they enable soil-less crops to receive the proper irrigation and nutritional inputs," explains marketing director Giulia Giuffrè.

Pre-assembled kits are systems that comprise of drippers and accessories part of the iDrop® range that not only help avoid wasting water resources but that also make nutrition more efficient while at the same time avoiding soil-borne diseases.

Detail of the Irritec irrigation system

The iDrop® range is made up turbulent-flow of on-line drippers suitable for orchards, vineyards, nurseries and greenhouses and wherever a flow with minimum variation is needed. The turbulent flow makes the iDrop® range ideal against occlusions, which therefore needs little maintenance.

The K-Drop System is ideal in case of protected crops. The pre-assembled kit includes drippers from the iDrop range, stake drippers and micropipes. Practical and functional,it comes pre-assembled with standard sizing or modular (choosing the manifold and stake) if different sizes are required. Ideal for crops in greenhouses or pots to meet soil-less irrigation needs.

Another system is the LIGHT – PC version: a self-compensating turbulent-flow dripper with a small size. It comes with a double inlet filter, a sturdy silicone membrane and a turbulent labyrinth that contribute to its excellent hydraulic characteristics. It is characterized by high-quality functioning, assembly functionality, numerous possible combinations and contained cost. This solution was developed specifically for soil-less crops and it is an Irritec's inexpensive and versatile answer to grower needs.

"The fertigation of soil-less plants can be managed with our systems to dose nutrients and correct acidity and electrical conductivity as well as to remotely manage the opening of electrovalves. Irritec developed different solutions to meet the needs of all growers dealing with fertigation."

Gruppo Irritec® was founded in Sicily in 1974 and is one of the global leaders in the smart irrigation sector with 14 production and commercial branches in Italy, Spain, Mexico, Brazil, US, Algeria, Germany and Chile.
