Spring products in new compostable film

After introducing a wooden packaging for the Noirmoutier potato and several cellulose and cardboard trays without treatment, the producer, packer and shipper Marais Group presents a new compostable film for seasonal products, conventional and organic, such as the tomato, lamb’s lettuce and leek.

“With this new packaging, we are reducing the environmental impact in two different ways. First, the use of recycled fibers during the production process implies a low consumption of natural resources. Additionally, the material is relatively ecological and the rejects are non-polluting and 100% compostable,” according to the spokesperson of the company.

The products in their new packaging will soon be available in stores. “We have done tests, sent samples on request...Now, we are ready. We are just waiting for a few products.” The first tomatoes, flagship product of the company, will be harvested at the end of March.

The new compostable film complies with the European norm EN 13432. On the packaging, there is information for the consumer about the characteristics of the packaging.
