Fellini Patrizio has seen a great increase in orders on all articles

Italian asparagus is in high demand

Asparagus is leading in sales, while all vegetables are booming due to the coronavirus impact. This was confirmed by the sales managers of the company Fellini Patrizio, who works with the whole large-scale retail trade and is in control of the situation.

"Our Italian first produce asparagus is greatly requested - explained Emile Fellini and Lamberto Giovanardi. At the moment, the production area is that of the province of Foggia and they are grown by one of our historical suppliers, who is skilled in high quality production.

The asparagus comes in bunches of 250 grams guaranteed weight, so as to facilitate the purchase by the final consumer. The bunches are calibrated to offer maximum uniformity. The wholesale price currently varies according to size, and at the moment the range is between EUR 5 and 7 per kg.

"The number of requests is high - added Giovanardi - and in the next few days we will be having more. Among other things, in the last few days the orders from large-scale retailers have increased considerably, due to the coronavirus effect."

Another firstling offered by Fellini are broad beans, which are cultivated in Calabria and Campania. For some years now, the products have been marketed in packages, so as to avoid favism in the retail outlets, as well as to prevent it from damage caused by consumers' handling. The packages come in trays of 500, 750 or 1000 grams.

In addition, Patrizio Fellini pursues a policy of sustainability and respect for the environment, both in terms of packaging and process (see FreshPlaza of 01/31/2020), aimed at a real green change.
