BinOculus is B2A's the latest creation

New warehouse management system with 3D simulations

Logistics is both a very complex and delicate process that involves the handling, storage and sorting of goods and it represents one of the most important aspects of a company's production cycle.

The B2A company from Rovereto (Trento) attended Fruit Logistica 2020 for the first time and presented BinOculus, a general warehouse supervision system, made entirely in 3D, that uses animation to simulate the entire route, both outside and inside the production area and storage unit.

"This allows the flow, handling and storage of goods or materials to be better coordinated," said Enzo Bassi, member of the company and commercial technician. BinOculus therefore assists companies in the process of organizational, managerial and strategic planning of the external and internal company area."

"It consists of an RTLS-Real Time Locating System for forklift trucks. BinOculus also uses RFID technology, which is able to locate and store the route taken by the UDCs (load units), which are handled with these forklifts."

BinOculus was created specifically to meet the needs of warehouses that store apples and small fruits. "But it can be applied to any storage warehouse or depot - pointed out Bassi - as the system represents a solution against the waste of product and time. It allows to obtain detailed information about the contents of a bin, with the date of entry into the storage warehouse, keep track of the movements made over several days (historical) and identify the exact location."

The use of RFID technology in the storage system and in the management of warehouse logistics operations makes it possible to optimize the handling and management of goods, while at the same time it decreases the margin of error and reduces the control and search times for warehouse operators.

B2A focuses on manufacturing execution systems and the integration of industrial systems through effective and flexible IT solutions that are easy-to-use. The production focuses on fruit processing, treatment and selection lines, guaranteeing a complete and personalized service according to each specific need.

B2A proposes itself to the market with both custom-made products and its own top leading line. Barbara Doria, partner of the company and responsible for the administration and marketing area, added that "Our aim is to provide solutions, products and services to help speed up and plan the work and monitor the entire fruit and vegetable processing cycle, in support of the horticultural warehouses."
