Organic has the largest share of the total market in Denmark

Swiss spend most money on organic food

Swiss consumers are the organic world champions, together with the Danes: they spend the most money on organic food. In 2018, the Swiss spent the equivalent of 312 euros on food from organic farming, according to the yearbook "The World of Organic Agriculture" published by the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL).

Denmark comes in third place with the same amount, followed by Sweden with 231 euros. The European average is 50 euros.

Organic has the largest share of the total market in Denmark with 11.5 percent. According to statistics, Switzerland comes in at 9.9 percent.
