The brand is appreciated and Selenella's new products are doing great

Sales are proceeding according to plan and potato stocks are enough to reach the beginning of the early potato harvest, in early April. And large-scale retailers are increasingly appreciating the Selenella brand of carrots and onions. This is how Massimo Cristiani, chairman of the Selenella Consortium, describes the current situation.

"We are happy with the prices of potatoes - says the chairman - and there are also margins for further improvement. Our brand is known and this allows us to have good authority. We know that the road ahead is always difficult and not without obstacles, but we are satisfied with the work done so far".

And it's not just potatoes: for some months now, the basket of products has also included carrots (see FreshPlaza of 11/21/2019) and these are being appreciated as well. "We are very satisfied with this article - adds Cristiani - which, although it started quietly, is registering good requests. It is a new reference for us and we work with new producers. Producing good carrots is not easy, both from the point of view of soil and climate and from a technical point of view. For this reason, the suppliers are specialized producers and the volumes, although not large yet, are growing".

From potatoes to carrots, then to onions (see Freshplaza of 11/26/2018). "They are going through a lively market phase - says the president - and, thanks to this article, we are entering new large-scale retail chains. We have the assets, built over the years, to have consumers on our side. They ask the supermarket for our product and the large-scale retail trade turns to us. It is a virtuous circle that rewards producers, the true architects of this success".
