"Sufficient supply of cauliflower on market"

There is a sufficient supply of cauliflower on the market. "Two or three weeks ago everything stopped for a while because of the weather conditions in Spain and the cauliflower price was sky high, but there are no shortages for the longer term. We are currently dealing with economical prices," says Robert Vogel of AGF Direct.

"Prices for French cauliflower are between 5.50 and 6 euros in wooden crates. Traditionally, the price of Spanish cauliflower is slightly above that", says Robert. "For the coming two weeks, I expect that cauliflower will remain on the market sufficiently, especially in a trading week, demand will not rise."

"But after that anything can happen. Nothing is as capricious as cauliflower and with an action the whole world can be turned upside down," said Robert, who mainly buys cauliflower from Spain, in addition to French cauliflower shortages. "We are reasonably satisfied with the import season so far. It has not been easy, but we cannot complain."
