Cultivated mushrooms now available

It is a good moment for mushrooms, as is usual in the run up to Christmas. Giampaolo Evangelisti from Fungo Cesena confirms that "we are supplying all clients from Venice to Lecce as well as various supermarkets and wholesale markets in Boligna, Genoa and Florence, just to name a few. Demand is lively."

Champignons are the most demanded, but the popularity of king trumpet mushrooms and oyster mushrooms is also on the up. "Quality is high as winter temperature has been good for both cultivation and consumption. The commercialization of wild mushrooms ends in early December, then comes the time for cultivated mushrooms."

Giampaolo Evangelisti

"I believe this is not the right period to make special promotions, yet big retailers ask for discounts. It would be more logical to make them when demand is dropping, but the needs of producers and supermarkets often differ and we are the ones who must adapt."

Fungo Cesena commercializes its products all over Italy thanks to its quick logistics, which makes it possible to maintain quality and freshness unaltered.
