Egypt has exported over 5 million tons of fruit and veg so far in 2019

The Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation has published the weekly report on agricultural exports for the period from January 2019 to November 27, which was presented by Dr. Ahmed El Attar, head of the Central Department of Agricultural Quarantine. The report confirms that the volume of Egyptian agricultural exports so far this year has already exceeded the 5 million tons.

The total volume stands at about 5,100,630 tons, which entails an increase of 220,178 tons over the same period last year. The list of the most important agricultural exports during that period includes citrus, potatoes, peppers, eggplant, onions, grapes, pomegranate, garlic, mango, strawberries, beans, guava and cucumber.

The first place in the ranking of most exported products has been for citrus, with shipments estimated at 1,764,841 tons, and the second place has been for potatoes, with 687,842 tons.
