Sergio Giovanelli, co-director and 4th generation owner of the fruit import company of the same name, based in Frauenfeld, has withdrawn from the family business with immediate effect. Together with his brother, he was at the helm of the Swiss fruit wholesale business for a total of 17 years and developed the company into a well-known service provider for the domestic food retail trade.
"In 2017, Raphael Weiss took over the position of CEO and we started 
to look for suitable candidates and to find and develop candidates for my activities. Little by little I gave up responsibility and was able to plan my departure carefully, in a way every entrepreneur dreams of," Giovanelli wrote in a commentary.
"In 2002 my brother and I took over the company from our father. With love for our company and our products, but above all through hard work and a lot of energy, we pushed the growth of the company forward. With trade, management, human resources and IT, I had many challenging and exciting tasks. The rapid growth made constant adjustment and optimization of processes necessary. The ISO certification that took place in this context and the introduction of various quality systems now serve as the basis for my successors", Giovanelli says, looking back.
He adds: "The extension, which my brother Romeo and I were able to realise, sets completely new standards in the industry. With the knowledge that I have set the course in the best possible way and created optimal conditions for the company, I leave the company with a good feeling".
Finally, the fruit trader thanks his brother and all the family members, employees, suppliers and the customers of the company for their many years of cooperation.
