Kaufland introduces reusable pouches for fruit and veg in Poland

Since October 10, reusable bags for vegetables and fruits can be bought in Polish Kaufland stores. This is another step towards reducing plastic use.

A pack of two reusable bags costs 2.99 zloty (about 0.70 Euro). The bags are made of fabric and can be machine washed.

The new product is to partially replace the commonly used plastic bags. According to the retail chain, the abandonment of plastic bags can contribute to reducing the use of plastic by even 445 tons per year.

"Fresh products, such as fruit and vegetables, are of particular interest to our customers. A turn to nature can be seen not only in the shopping basket, but also in the approach to environmental protection. We are aware that, as a retail chain, it is our responsibility to offer customers the choice, offering them various ecological alternatives that are compatible with their values. We are happy about the growth of environmental awareness, and together with our clients, we can contribute to reducing the consumption of plastic," said Justyna Przybylska, director of the Corporate Communication Department of the Kaufland network.
