'Fifth generation' breaks ground for new head office for LC Packaging

Friday September 20th 2019 LC Packaging festively celebrated the start of construction of the new, sustainable, state of the art head office and warehouse at the Logistiekpark A12 in Widdinxveen. The family company, that celebrated its 95th anniversary is building its future on the Logistiekpark A12 in Waddinxveen. The three sons of current CEO Lucas Lammers were first to drive the poles into the ground as the 'fifth generation'. This was celebrated with 100 Dutch colleagues and other attendees.

LC Packaging is making the official move from Nieuwerkerk a/d IJssel to Waddinxveen. At the Logistiekpark A12 the company is building a new head office and warehouse: a state of the art building that meets all modern requirements in which sustainability and well-being are central. Lucas Lammers, CEO: "At this new location we can continue our growing organisation with full force and safeguard to quality we aim for every day: in our packaging and in the way that we work (together). We aim to obtain BREEAM Outstanding certification with our new building, the highest certification achievable in the area of sustainable construction. Measures have been taken to minimise the output of CO2 and the water and energy usage, and sustainable materials are being used during the building and fitting of the new location. A lot of attention is also being paid to the attractiveness of the workplace. We want every LC colleague to come to work with pleasure every morning."

Added value
The new building will be realised in two phases. In the first phase over 11,000 m2 of warehouse and 3,000 m2 office space will be realised. LC Packaging Netherlands, LC Packaging International and LC Packaging Global will be using the new building. The warehouse in phase 1 has a capacity of 29,000 pallet places as well as a closed hall for printing jute and plastic bags. The warehouse will be divided into multiple compartments so that packaging for different industries (for instance foods, pharmaceuticals or the chemical industry) are stored in different places. All track and trace is safeguarded by the advanced Warehouse Management System by SAP.

Part of the environment
The office was designed by architect Quadrant4 and will fit fully into the environment. De Vries en Verburg are at the head of the building team. The building points towards the roundabout of the Logistiek park A12 and the bordering water, which means the building and water run into one another. The large glass walls on the waterfront also ensure a good connection between those inside and outside.
