Moscow authorities invest 860,000 USD

Russia: Blockchain to optimize fruit & vegetable trade

The Moscow authorities have ordered the development of a blockchain system worth $ 860,000. It should help to automate the electronic services of the city and to optimize the vegetable trade, reports Cryptobit Media.

The Open Media release informs that the Moscow Information Technology Department is ordering a blockchain platform.

With this tool, citizens can receive information from housing registers and "book" a spot to trade fruit and vegetables at regular fairs.

Another contractor is required to work on the Active Citizen project. Within this project, the blockchain is used to store and manage personal data of residents of the Russian capital.

Blockchain platform for city services
The authorities are willing to pay 56,96 million rubles (about 860,000 USD) for these projects. In early August, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev commissioned the government to draft a law regulating cryptocurrencies in the country. The closing date here is 1 November 2019. Then the proposal should be ready for consideration in the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation and in Parliament.
