UK couple discover ‘rotting strawberry’ is actually frog

A UK Asda customer discovered that what she thought was a “rotting strawberry” in a freshly-bought punnet was actually a frog.  Luke Bown and his fiancee Leanne Anderson didn't notice the little brown face peering out at them until they unpacked their ASDA shopping last week.

Leanne was horrified to see what she thought was a “rotting strawberry” had eyes and was staring back at her. The couple claim the “well-travelled” frog had been nibbling on their fruit to survive and they ran the box under the tap to keep the creature from drying out.

Photos show the frog or toad, nicknamed 'Kermit', nestled on a juicy strawberry the same length of its body in the unopened box of ASDA Grower's Selection Scottish Strawberries.
