Robin van Stelten, OTC Organics:

"Most buyers slowly switching to Egyptian organic onions"

The onion import season is currently in full swing at the Dutch company, OTC Organics. "We are busy with the last of the Dutch organic onions. Now we are switching to those from Egypt," says this company's Purchasing Manager, Robin van Stelten. He has just returned from a visit to their Egyptian suppliers. "The onions are of very good quality. Most buyers want to now slowly switch to the Egyptian product."

"The onions are of far better quality than last season. We receive a stable, weekly supply of yellow onions. I am also expecting the first red onions within four or five weeks. All our suppliers are GlobalGAP, Bio, Smeta, and Grasp certified", this onion specialist at OTC Organics concludes.
