Irritec's smart irrigation solutions

The lack of water and increasing food demand on a global scale have led to the need of rational irrigation systems all over the world.

Agriculture is in fact the sector that uses the most water (up to 70-80%) and, even in humid areas, drought is a risk that could cause catastrophic consequences.

"This is why producers must adopt agricultural practices that help save water," explains Giulia Giuffrè (in the photo), marketing director at Irritec S.p.a., a company specializing in irrigation systems with a high technological content.

In temperate climate regions, companies have been using artificial reservoirs for quite some time. Microirrigation is a perfect way of facing critical periods, as it enables producers to distribute water and nutritional solutions in small quantities and frequently, thus maintaining an ideal humidity level in the root area with reduced water and energy consumption.

"After having identified the most suitable solution for the type of soil, crop and water source, we plan and produce accessible, sustainable, efficient and reliable irrigation systems that perfectly meet the needs of producers."

The company
Gruppo Irritec was established in Sicily in 1974 and is one of the leading smart irrigation companies worldwide. Its mission is to improve the efficiency of irrigation in agriculture and gardening reducing its environmental impact.

"With 11 facilities and over 700 collaborators, Irritec owns manufacturing and commercial facilities in Italy, Spain, Mexico, Brazil, US, Algeria, Germany and Chile. As part of its commitment towards eco-sustainability, the company has also launched the Green Fields project, which encourages producers to dispose of plastic products properly. This initiative has turned Irritec into an example of circular economy."

The company has won many international awards and its products are destined to producers, distributors and retailers always aiming at achieving the best result, i.e. safeguarding the most precious element on our planet - water.

One of the latest introductions is the Commander FLT system (in the photo). "Commander FLT is the new Irritec planner for filter backwashing and it is hugely flexible. It enables operators to choose 3 different types of irrigation: timed, pressure differential or m3. Everything can be set through a display."

The device also features bluetooth and wi-fi and is very practical to use.
