SeaLand Europe & Med (Maersk Line) is launching a new service to St. Petersburg. Maersk Russia has stated that the rotation will be as follows: Wilhelmshaven – Bremerhaven – Klaipeda – Rauma – St. Petersburg (FCT) – Wilhelmshaven.
Seanews.ru reports that the service will deploy two of the new ice-classed container vessels Maersk built for the Baltic, “Vuoksi Maersk” and “Vilnia Maersk”, the fifth and the sixth in the series. The first voyage is to commence on March 18.
In addition to launching the new service, Maersk is also making changes to the rotation of its other Baltic services as follow:
- Bremerhaven – Hamburg – Gdynia – Gdansk – Tallinn – St. Petersburg – Gdansk – Gdynia – Bremerhaven;
- Bremerhaven – Ust-Luga – Helsinki – Tallinn – Sillamaë – Bremerhaven;
- Gdansk – Kaliningrad – St. Petersburg – Gdansk;
- Hamburg – Wilhelmshaven – Bremerhaven – Copenhagen – Dansk – Norrkoping – Gavle – Hamburg;
- Gdansk – Riga – Gdansk.
