Werder Frucht GmbH brings three varieties of cucumbers onto the market

Cucumber harvest started at the Bralitz site last week

In the greenhouse in Bralitz (near Bad Freienwalde) in the state of Brandenburg, Werder Frucht GmbH has started harvesting its lettuces and mini cucumbers. This year, too, they expect a profitable and successful season. At the Bralitz site, cucumbers of the varieties "Prolog" and "Lausanna" are grown on 4.3 ha. The "Picowell" mini cucumber is grown on 0.3 ha.

With a water content of 97%, cucumbers are the most water-rich and low-calorie vegetables around. They belong to the genus of cucurbits. Cucumber cultivation already existed in India 3000 years ago. The cucumber probably came to western Europe only in the 16th century. At least, there is documentation on them from that period.

Individually packaged
The fruit vegetable is available in various units. "The cucumbers are delivered as piece goods depending on customer requirements in the box, in the Ifco or EPS crate."
