Visit of the Ballester Sénéchal house

“We shouldn’t underestimate the importance of local products”

Since 2016, Delphine Sénéchal and her brother Cédric have been managing the Ballester Sénéchal house, fruit and vegetable wholesaler at the MIN market of Lille. The siblings work with local productions and sell the merchandise from more than 20 local producers.

A significant part of the sales area is dedicated to local products. At the moment, we find mainly winter vegetables, like celeriac, leek, cabbages and carrots cultivated just 6 miles away from the MIN market.

The Ballester Sénéchal house has a sales area of 21,530 square feet, in which clients come get their supply daily. Those who are too far away can also get their products delivered by third-party carriers,

The offer is built around the taste qualities of the products. There is the selection of premium brands, but also products whose volumes are not disclosed for instance, which have been selected for their unique taste.

According to Delphine, the quality of the service is a key success factor for the company. “We try to be responsive and flexible, and we listen to our clients.” Another key to their success resides in the proposed brands. “The brands we work with are the guarantee of constant quality looked for by our clients.”

The Ballester Sénéchal house was founded in 1972 by Claude and Francis Sénéchal (Delphine and Cédric’s father) and the Ballester brothers. Before being bought in 2016, the company was part of the Pomona group for 18 years.
