Hugo Beck and Mopack exhibit in Berlin for the first time

Hugo Beck, a manufacturer of horizontal flowpack, film packaging and post-print processing systems, and film supplier mopack will be displaying for the first time their film packaging solutions for fresh products such as fruit and vegetables, at this year's Fruit Logistica. Based on stand F-08 in Hall 9, from 6-8 February, the focus will be on PVC-free shrink film packaging without plasticizers and the latest machinery efficiencies under the motto "reduce and save on your film packaging”.

Both companies are showing ways of using film packaging more sustainably, enabling significant reductions in packaging for manufacturers and the end consumer. Visitors to the stand will clearly see the benefits of using shrink film with trays for packing fresh fruits like apples, when compared to stretch film packaging, which is customarily used in the industry. Not only are the polyolefin fine shrink films PVC-free, but when used in combination with Hugo Beck’s flexo X and servo X series film packaging machines, they deliver significant film savings of up to 70 % in volume per pack.

At the same time, Hugo Beck's cutting-edge machine technology also delivers higher output with cycle rates of up to 100 packs per minute. This combined with the significant film reduction, ensures the payback on the initial machine investment is minimised. In addition, as polyolefin fine shrink films are assigned to recycling group 4 (PE-LD), the disposal costs prescribed by law are thereby reduced as being not subject to any separate waste regulations.

“We are excited to be at Fruit Logistica for the first time and welcome visitors to stand F-08 in Hall 9 to see our comprehensive range of packaging machines for poly bag and shrink pack applications, as well as flowpack packaging suitable for a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables,” explains Timo Kollmann, Sales Director at Hugo Beck.

“These combined with the latest range of packaging and shrink films from mopack, including the world's thinnest polyolefin fine shrink film at 7µm, will mean visitors can clearly see the latest in sustainability and how they can reduce and save film on their packaging for fresh products.”
