The Italian Sergio Panini is the man responsible for the European division

Kallos exports globally

It is not true that small fruits cannot be marketed. All that's needed is the right market. The Kallos horticultural intermediation company is able to reach every destination. Sergio Panini confirms that. He is the new general manager Europe for Kallos, a company based in South Africa with offices in France.

Panini said, “This year was characterised by large quantities of apples. We marketed smaller produce in some African markets, where customers prefer smaller products compared to European standards”.

Panini manages the offices in France and has the job to implement new Italian supplier and to open new offices in Italy, in the future.

“From South Africa, our company has been specialised for 75 years in fruit marketing with Sub-Saharan Africa. We are also active in other parts of the world such as Asia and South America. We are already collaborating with some Italian suppliers, like Melinda, Paimfrut, Di Donna, Giuliano. In France, we work with Castang, Mesfruits and others.

South-Africa Team

Even though most of Kallos’s fruit and vegetables come from South Africa and Europe, we are able to offer supplies of perishable produce of high quality at competitive prices thanks to our global supplying offices and our wide supplier network.

“We choose the best quality of our main producers in different regions, therefore off-season fruit and vegetable will never be a problem for us. Our goal is to form solid relationships with suppliers and clients all over the world in order to ensure mutual growth and sustainable income”.

Panini continued, “In 2018, we filled almost 3.000 containers, 300 of which in the French offices with both Italian and French fruit. The income is of almost 60 million euros, 6 of which coming from Europe. We have a dedicated logistics team that guarantee professional and on time shipments, regardless of the final destination. The majority of our exports is destined to African critical markets, but we also extensively distribute in Europe, Eastern Europe, Russia, Middle-East, and in some destinations in the Far-East and Canada. Additionally, Kallos Exporters is the main exporter in the Indian Ocean, and also the main South-African fruit exporter in Africa”.
