Coop Switzerland announces further use of sustainable packaging

Organic oranges now packaged in cellulose nets

After doing the same to the organic lemons and clementines, for the packaging of its organic oranges Swiss supermarket chain Coop is now switching to an environmentally friendly cellulose net as well. This was said in a short statement from the group.

Synthetic nets
By dispensing with the existing synthetic netting, 0.4 tons of plastic are saved each year. In November, Coop announced the immediate switch to cellulose nets for organic lemons and organic clementines.
