Last Spring, Gebr. Opstal Transporten moved into a different building on the Bleiswijkse auction site in the Netherlands. Since then, this transportation company has taken a new 100 m2 cooling cell into use. It is equipped to cool about 80 pallets of trading goods.
"An ideal expansion for our clients. We can now take care of container transport from the harbor. We store the products here and then distribute them to clients in the Netherlands and Paris", says John Opstal.
Paris has become a real specialty for the carrier. It is not for nothing that the company started with the 'Rungis Road Express' this year. "This has worked out well for us", John says.
"We have six of our own trucks on the road every day. Naturally, of course, a group line needs time to grow. Fortunately, for the most part, we have full loads of fruit, vegetables, flowers, and plants."
He has not had any problems with the "Yellow Vests" in recent weeks. "The drivers stood still for a few hours a few times. However, otherwise, activities could continue as normal."
According to John, the location at Bleiswijk is golden. "We are simply in a very favorable position here. We are centrally located between the Ports, Schiphol, Oostland, and Westland. We also drive to the trade centers in groupage on a daily basis."
"Up to now, that has only resulted in growth. That is not an end unto itself. However, if further expansion is needed in our fleet, we will definitely continue", he concludes.
