Wholesale prices South Tyrol:

Apple rates far below the previous year's level

The economic research institute WIFO in Bolzano regularly publishes a list of wholesale prices for various products. With the publication of these prices for the most important South Tyrolean apple varieties, we want to sketch the situation on the apple market. The prices for November 2018 are now available.

A look at the latest wholesale prices for the month of November shows that the prices of the new crop for all varieties are well below the level of last year. If one sees 2017 with its very small harvest as an exception and one compares the figures with the available figures from 2016, then the development is quite different: For the Cripps Pink, Granny Smith, Golden Delicious and Braeburn varieties, the average prices in November were slightly lower in 2016 than they are at the moment. In November 2016 they were higher for the Kanzi, Fuji, Gala and Red Delicious varieties.
