The 2018 edition of Mac Fruit Attraction China, which was held in Shanghai from 21 to 23 November, has just ended. Also present at the event was the Besana Group, who this year has participated in three exhibitions in the country of the Dragon: in addition to the Eastern edition of Macfrut, Besana was also present at SIAL China 2018 and FHC Shanghai. A choice that testifies to the strengthening of the Group in the country and the increasingly strategic importance of China for nuts and dried fruit processed and marketed by Besana. At Mac Fruit Attraction China four new Besana products were presented, specifically developed for the Chinese market. These are four premium references for large retailers, which will occupy a niche segment.
"I am returning from the Shanghai fair with great satisfaction - says Renato De Goyzueta, Export manager of the Besana Group - the appointment is of great importance to us, since China is growing and will increasingly be one of our reference markets for the next years. We have premiered four new products for the GDO, which from the first reactions have already been received very positively. We are convinced that in this great, rapidly evolving country there will be great prospects for development."
The presence at the three Chinese fairs also made it possible to strengthen the international agricultural supply chain project that the Besana Group has been carrying out for some years. As leading company in the world for nuts and dried fruit, Besana has introduced an innovative model of agricultural development. The aim is to enhance the cultivation of walnuts, hazelnuts and almonds, creating a supply chain project with the producers of Central Asia and Central Europe, areas where the pedoclimatic characteristics allow the crops to perform at their best. The project also has very important social implications, such as the growth of underdeveloped areas and the spread of modern agricultural technologies among local populations. The ambitious project, which provides for an investment of 2 million euros, has been launched already 3 years ago.
Besana supports farmers and offers the proper know-how and assistance in every phase: from the selection of the cultivars, to the irrigation and mechanization techniques (fundamental for this type of agriculture), to the marketing of the product all over the world. "A unique supply chain project that connects East and West - concludes Pino Calcagni, President of the Besana Group - China is a strategic link in this model, and the experience of these three fairs has produced positive prospects for the future of nuts."
