2018 Fruit and Vegetable seasons affected by the Weather

The National Interprofessional Association of Processed Fruits and Vegetables (Anifelt) has just published its annual report. It shows that the year was very much impacted by the weather conditions.

Many sectors have seen their production drop. "The volumes of peas (canning and freezing) are 19% below expectations". Flat beans (freezing) are 10% below, as are red beets (30%).

Cabbage harvest for sauerkraut is down 30%. This drop is similar to that of tomatoes (20%) and salads (20 to 30%).

Potato production, on the other hand, is 10% in deficit.
