During a check on a truck carrying onions, customs officials discovered 140 kilos of cannabis herb.
Registered in Bulgaria, the truck was intercepted on the A 63 in the Landes. The merchandise was simply placed over the cargo of onions. The driver who was returning from Spain to the Netherlands did not give any explanation as to the presence of the narcotics.
The Dax public prosecutor's office opened a criminal investigation and requested the detention of the driver.
