The supply of tomatoes was very diverse and shipments came from several different countries. Regular products came mainly from the Netherlands, Spain and Belgium, round tomatoes and beef tomatoes mainly from Belgium and Morocco. Italy and the Netherlands were ahead in cherry tomatoes. Here and there, Turkish, Polish and French deliveries complemented events. The availability was enough to meet demand easily. Prices went down frequently.
In Frankfurt, at the beginning of the week, traders tried to raise their prices for Dutch and Belgian fruits. The customers then resorted to the favorable Moroccan imports, so that sellers lowered their prices again from Thursday onwards. Thanks to their low prices, Moroccan and Polish inflows were met with interest in Berlin, provided their quality was alright. In Munich, stocks could not be cleared consistently. Cologne alone reported higher prices for Belgian beef tomatoes.
Apples
Germany dominated events with Elstar, Jonagold, Boskoop and Braeburn. Overall, there was a quiet trade. Demand could be satisfied easily.
Pears
As before, Italian Santa Maria, Abate Fetel and Williams Christ dominated the scenery. Demand could generally be satisfied with ease. No serious price changes were identified.
Table grapes
Italy dominated with Italia, Crimson Seedless and Michele Palieri. Overall, the articles met with a steady demand. Nevertheless, the accommodation options were limited as customers focused on other types of fruit.
Small-fruited citrus
Because of the autumnal weather, demand increased and sales then accelerated. This was urgently needed because availability had expanded enormously once again.
Lemons
Spain dominated the events, ahead of Turkey. Argentina and Greece completed the range with minimal supplies. Prices hardly changed.
Bananas
The market situation was very mixed. On the one hand, prices of secondary and third-party brands rose, and on the other hand they suffered because of increased supplies.
Cauliflower
The provision of predominantly domestic Belgian lots fit in quite well with accommodation options. In places, however, the Belgium lots were not too widely available, so traders could raise their prices rather massively.
Lettuce
The season of local ice berg lettuce obviously turned into the home straight and supply was reduced. In some places it dried up completely, during the week.
Cucumbers
Supply was noticeably limited. Certainly domestic deliveries fell enormously. But Spanish, Belgian and Dutch supply decreased as well.
Tomatoes
The range was very diverse and the offers came from several different countries. Availability grew and was enough to meet demand easily. Frequently, prices dropped off somewhat.
Sweet peppers
There was a mixed scene and prices developed very differently. In general, demand was quite lively and could be easily covered.
