Produce business supplies Aldi with €130,000 worth of pumpkins

Donnelly Fruit & Veg has made a new contract agreement with Aldi Ireland to supply pumpkins to the value of €130,000 in time for Halloween. In early May, the company reportedly began growing an Irish pumpkins crop, harvesting in September and October.

“Aldi has a long-standing working relationship with Donnelly Fruit & Veg, who have consistently provided our stores with the very finest Irish-grown fruit and vegetables," said John Curtin, group buying director, Aldi. "We know that our customers will welcome the addition of Irish pumpkins to our stores.”

Premium Fruit & Veg
The fresh produce business has been already supplying Aldi Stores with Irish strawberries, Irish tomatoes and several other Irish fruit and vegetable lines stores nationwide. Martin Gaffney, farms director of Donnelly Fruit & Veg, said: “We have been growing premium fruit and veg in Co. Dublin since 1979 and have been supplying Aldi for over 10 years. Our partnership with Aldi continues to go from strength-to-strength and this is underlined by its continued support of our business.”

Aldi’s Irish pumpkins will be on sale from Thursday 4 October with prices starting from €0.99.
