"First Spanish mandarins eagerly snatched up after messy overseas season"

Early this week the first Spanish mandarins from the Filosofo brand have been unloaded at Willem Dijk AGF. Ronnie Moorman states they're arriving just at the right time.

"In my view, the overseas mandarin season was quite messy, with few fixed lines and size agreements. Despite it all, high prices were still seen. People are ready for something new; that is what I notice in how people outside our regular customer base react."

"The first Iwasaki tangerines always taste tangy fresh, but we know our shipping agent, Aranda, does not start trading when the mandarins are not yet suitable. By the way, we will start at the same time as last year. The mandarin have an excellent color and the Iwasaki's are always a little softer. Aranda expects to be able to supply us with a good amount of mandarins again, this year," said the importer.

Willem Dijk AGF has been working for many years with Aranda, based in the municipality of Valencia, between Gandia and Oliva. With the Filosofo brand it has made a name for itself on the Dutch and German markets. "Within a few weeks we will be able to market the complete range of Filosofo citrus, including the Okitsu and Navelina, followed by Clementines and Salustianas," concluded Ronnie.
