After all, the demand of the consumers is large. According to the minister an increasing number of people are using the portal to quickly and easily find suitable direct marketers in their immediate surroundings. They can choose from a wide range of farm shops, farmers markets, holiday locations, farmer’s cafes or wineries. The increasing interest of both farmers and consumers is understandable according to the minister, because regional and local food is trending. "Aspects such as quality, freshness and transparency are increasingly important purchasing criteria," states the minister. Since the launch of the portal, two years ago, over 55,000 visitors have been informed about regional products.
