Promising future for Vietnamese mangoes in Japan

According to Nguyen Xuan Hong, Head of the Vegetable Protection Department in Vietnam, Vietnamese mango exports to Japan are likely to increase hugely.

It has taken 5 years for Vietnamese authorities to be able to export the Cat Chu mangoes onto the Japanese market. Vietnamese companies, especially those in the South can now export mangoes to Japan, a promising future for mango exporters.

Vietnamese mangoes in Japan are sold for $8-10/kilo, i.e. $2-3 more than Thai mangoes.
