This week, a frog was discovered in a crate of bananas coming in from Ecuador. The little creature was found in a Polish supermarket, by an employee of the centre for animal welfare in the town of Przemyśl.
The finding is a peculiar one. The frog is extremely small, only the size of a fingernail. It’s probably related to the Hyperolius Family, part of the Hyperoliidae Family of Amphibians. New species of this Family are still being discovered. The species is known for its bright colours and its resemblance to the poison dart frog of Central America.
The discovered frog, however, is not poisonous. It was housed at the Przemyśl centre.
