Germany: Edeka to take over four Elro stores

The German Edeka Group will take over four outlets of the insolvent fruit juice manufacturer Elro from Rostock. The take-over will secure some 170 jobs in Poland and Germany. Germany’s largest trade group will adopt 'Elmenhorster Fruchtsaftgetränke GmbH' in Rostock, a wine press near Leipzig, an organic fruit company near Rostock and an apple press factory in Warsaw.

Integration of the new companies will likely extend Edeka’s competitiveness in the juice business. The Elro Group, with 350 employees and an annual turnover of 150 million Euro, declared bankruptcy in September of this year.
