Euroports and Compagnie Fruitière

Belgium: New multi purpose refrigerated fruit terminal in Antwerp

The facility will be located at Euroports Breakbulk Terminal at the Left Bank in the Port of Antwerp (Quay 1207) and will have a cold and dry store area warehouse. Construction of the 13.950 m² facility started in September 2012 and the operation is expected to go live in Q1 2013. Bolckmans NV is the contractor for this project.

This new plant will require an investment of € 8.2 mio. A new joint-venture company, EuroFruitPorts, will handle temperature controlled import fruit, mainly from Africa, as well as additional products for export.

“Euroports is very excited about this project. It provides our group with an excellent opportunity to further diversify our product portfolio. Furthermore, the partnership with Compagnie Fruitière provides both companies with a range of strategic opportunities that we are very committed to investigate together”, according to Charles Menkhorst – Group CEO of Euroports.”
