less transport expenses and more CO2 saving

Intermodality service DailyFresh Logistics sustainable and cost saving.

DailyFresh Logistics have introduced a service from Spain in which transport over water and by road are combined. Because of the increasing requirement from the market a new service could, in addition to traditional road transport, not fail to materialize. The service of DailyFresh Logistics saves 2000 km of road transport and hundreds of Euro for tolls on the journey. This situation is also good for the environment by decreasing the CO2-emission.

That Dutch and Spanish customers want a multi faceted route is proven by our customers, as per Adrie Visbeen. From the Netherlands we have a number of customers, who ship cargo in a fixed pattern all through the season via Transfennica from Bilbao to Zeebrugge and Tilbury. This week we also have sent cargo to the first Spanish customers.

According to John Boom, sales manager DailyFresh Logistics success is determined by the network, which can be offered. During the last years DailyFresh Logistics have invested in good relationships in Spain. During the economic crisis our service is also an opportunity for Spanish transporters, who as part of the entire voyage, are used to transport fresh products from Spain to Bilbao.

In the port of Bilbao are temperature controlled cross-dock facilities, where products are collected and re-packed in 45ft pallet-wide Coolboxx reefer containers for shipment to Ireland, Scandinavia and Russia. When the Spanish legislation concerning gross load weights and axle carrying capacity have been adjusted then possibilities for transport from Spain will be increased further.
