Superior Foods, Inc. announced the appointment of Neil Happee to President and Chief Executive Officer.
Happee has served with the company for more than 20 years, the last 10 as Chief Operating Officer. David E. Moore, who has served as President and CEO, will join his co-founder Mateo Lettunich as Co-Chairman of Superior Foods, Inc. and Superior Foods International, as well as continue to serve on the Board as Director for the American Frozen Food Institute. “Neil is uniquely qualified for this role,” Moore said. “He has a proven track record of performance, dedication and integrity as evidenced by his leadership during the recent expansion of our San Antonio manufacturing plant, driving the innovation and development of new products, and optimizing our domestic supply chain. Leading the current management team, he will be responsible for all day-to-day operations as well as positioning the company for long term success. Mateo and I are confident that Neil’s experienced leadership will open up great opportunities for Superior Foods.”

Superior Foods, Inc. was founded by Moore and Lettunich in 1980. In 1994, they founded Superior Foods International, LLC, along with Marco Cruz, who serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Superior Foods International. The combined companies are one of the largest manufacturers and marketers of frozen fruit and vegetable products in the USA and throughout the world. Headquartered in Watsonville CA, the companies employ 70 people locally, 600 people worldwide, with business operations and strategic partnerships in over 20 countries on four continents, and offers over 400 different products, including seasoned, sauced, protein-added and ingredient items. Superior Foods also owns production facilities in Guatemala and San Antonio, Texas.
Joining Moore and Lettunich on the Board of Directors is Superior Foods International Marco Cruz; Joining from Superior Foods, Inc. is Senior Vice President Mark Colendich and Chief Financial Officer, Monroe Howser.
