AgroFair have won the Coop Natura Award 2012 in the category Food. The Coop Natura Award is presented every two years to long time partners of Coop Switzerland. With this they show their extra appreciation to their partners for long lasting service and innovation. As a long time retailer in Switzerland they set high demands to their partners. In this way they strive for increasing innovation and sustainability in the chain and partnerships in the long term. 
Coop Switzerland have had bananas from AgroFair in their assortment since 1997. Only one year before this AgroFair introduced, as first in the world, the first Fairtrade banana from Ecuador on the European market. The bananas were followed later by Fairtrade mangoes, Fairtrade pineapples and Fairtrade citrus. AgroFair have the ambition of a 100% Fairtrade and/or organic certified assortment. The working area of AgroFair is at the moment in Middle America, South America and Africa. It is remarkable that 35% of the company is owned by the growers themselves.
The price is a stimulant for all partners to work in a sustainable way and to continue to innovate. The involvement of the partners has been recognized by Coop Switzerland in presenting a Coop Natura Award of which an amount of 100,000 CHF
